RDF Services

Army

The Army is structured to conduct operations independently and in conjunction with other RDF Services.

 

Air Force

The Rwanda Air Force is one of the services that comprise the Rwanda Defence Force, responsible for defending Rwandan airspace through prompt, sustained offensive and defensive air operations. 

Military Health Service

The Military Health Service is responsible for ensuring the health of defence and security organs personnel, their families and the general public.

Reserve Force

Reserve Force means a service of the RDF made up of soldiers on full-time active duty and others who serve part-time, but who can be recalled to active duty whenever necessary.

RDF in Peacekeeping Missions

Humanity Drives Rwanda's Peace Support Operations

Rwanda is among the few if not the only peculiar country in the world that is mandated by the constitution to take part in peacekeeping around the world and in support of affected communities.

Currently, Rwanda is the 2nd biggest troop contributing country with 4,786 military personnel in support of UN peacekeeping operations in South Sudan (UNMISS) and Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
